~WISHES TO MY SAIL WHEN AT SEA~

I sit to watch his demeanor
One that resembles that of a minor
Even though so much waxed in age
You could hardly tell from his playful nature
When amidst children.

He is slow to anger
Quiet when at hunger
His laughter beams brighter
Always on point even when on humour
An inspirer
A good singer
My very first piano teacher

He will direct you like a compass
And often trap you in his vocabs
Like a hunter.

His smiles are so infectious and contagious
So hard to be cured like Ebola,
Never willing to miss a thing
So his lips he never rests
Till his doubts are settled
And questions digested.

He is my sail when at sea
My dreams he helps me see
So his advises in troubled times I seek
He is a brother, and a friend
And as I say happy birthday
And all I meant to say is
May God bless you now and always.

WHERE YOU STAND

The weight is too much

I cannot lift it all alone

But it seems I am the only one

Lifting at my end,

And your end.

I cannot do this alone

I cannot love you alone

Without you loving me back.

This weight of love is heavy

And I cannot lift it all alone.

So do not just stand in it looking-

Get involved!

Do not sit in it

For it will work together well-

I know!

If you lift where you stand.

~'TWAS LIFE~

I have come,
I have seen.

I have lived,
It was fun.

It was sad,
It was life.

~AS I FELL ONCE~

As I fell once from the presence of Father
So also I made man fall in His sight
So we could all be on the same
Pedestal of misery

As I fell from His presence once,
So man,
Will I keep make falling;
In the sight of Father.

THIS LIFE AND DEATH

Life is the place

Where we wait to die.

Death is the machine;

That teleports us to

The realm that waiting,

Is sure for resurrection.

I have never tasted death,

So I cannot describe,

How fun that ride is.

But for life,

I can say even though it sucks-

It is worth trying living it.

ANOTHER GHANAIAN

You vowed-

You vowed not to meet another Ghanaian,

Not to your heart,
 Him you give away.

I vowed never in my life;

I be with another cheater, liar.

Never to give myself away-
To such a woman.

But our vows grew void,

When I met you and you me.

I was another Ghanaian,

And you were just another liar.

THOSE I MISS

~THOSE I MISS~

If I could tell them in the face
Tears will rain and there can be nowhere to
To find consolation
But I shall still tell them in the face
So I write;

Tell them I miss them
Both my mama and papa
Brother and sister
Oh tell them that I miss them
With my half full heart of nostalgia
Make them feel and just not believing

The little goat; that chases after its mother
Oh, I miss them all
Being it the bad or good
Tell them that I truly miss them.

...AND ADAM FELL

Adam and eve
On a Friday afternoon
Sought to play hide and seek.

Adam where are you?
Where are you?
Adam, Adam!-
Here I am! She heard
From the tree of knowledge
Of good and evil.

She sought to find out
Just to find out it was not Adam
You are not Adam, said she
Yes I am not said the serpent.
You look tired from hiding and seeking

Have you considered these fruits edible yet?
Yes she replied,
But Father has asked not to touch it
And I do not know why here
I stand talking to you.
Neither eat we of it
But of the other fruits we shall
Freely eat thereof.
For the day we shall taste of it,
We shall surely die!

Adam on the other hand,
Calling for Eve…
Eve! Eve!
Bone of my bones-
Where are you?
Here, here; she responded.

What are you doing there?
Conversation… she retorted.
What! With who?
He asked as he ran
Discerning the location of
The forbidden tree.

So as I was saying
The day you shall eat of it,
You shall not surely die.
The serpent lured her.
Try it, just a bite of it.
Pluck it, it wouldn’t bite you
But Father said… came in Eve
-No, No, No!
Do not! Do not! - yelled Adam.

But it was too late
Eve reached unto one
Adam running faster fell,
He tripped and fell
Adam fell
He fell, a great fall
And Eve bit,
She bit a great bite.

And Adam cried!
And Eve hailed-it tastes good!
You need to taste to know
If it is true Adam.
Now I know, you need to know too-
See I am still alive!!
It is true-we shall not surely die
From tasting of this fruit.
But Father said…
Yes, but here I am right beside you,
Adam’s face on the ground
Cried more with pain
I fell, I fell, I fell!
Oh, I have fallen!

But Adam fell that man may live,
 And men may live
To know good and evil
That from their good,
They may have joy.
