~BEFORE THY BAPTISM~

When will thou come again?

Only if thou will let me know

Only if thou will whisper into

My stubborn ears,

That I may be alert.

Only if thou will open my earthly eyes

To see the nature of that day

And not how it has been

Painted by men.

So before thou

Baptize the earth with fire

And not with water this time

                                       Please refine my soul now                                     

With thy spirit

That I may be saved from the second

Baptism of the earth and her children.
